The Election Commission on Thursday announced the schedule for Dhaka-5 and Naogaon-6 by-polls fixing September 17 as the last date of filing nomination papers.
Earlier, the voting day for the two constituencies was fixed on October 17.
Election Commission secretary M Alamgir announced the schedule at Nirbachon Bhavan in the capital.
According to the schedule, nomination papers will be scrutinised on September 20 and the last date of withdrawing nomination paper is September 27.
The returning officers will allocate electoral symbols among the candidates on September 28 and the candidates will be allowed for electioneering after getting the symbols.
The parliamentary constituencies fell vacant following the deaths of ruling Awami League lawmakers.
The Dhaka-5 constituency fell vacant following the death of Awami League lawmaker Habibur Rahman Mollah on May 6.
The Naogaon-6 constituency fell vacant following the death of AL lawmaker M Israfil Alam on July 27.
