Desk News :: Ruling Awami League general secretary Obiadul Quader on Wednesday said that they would not allow the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party activists to stand on streets from now on.
‘They [BNP] have to face counter besiege, if they come to lay siege. We will not allow them to stand. They [United States] are demanding free, fair, peaceful and transparent elections and they will impose restrictions on those trying to resist elections. We want election,’ said Quader while addressing a rally what the party called ‘peace and development rally’ at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Bangladesh capital Dhaka.
He also wanted to see action to be taken by the United States against those who would try to resist the elections.
AL Dhaka south city unit organised the rally marking the 60th anniversary of the the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s youngest son Sheikh Russel and ‘Sheikh Russel Day’.
Replying to the BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s last message urging prime minister to quit, Quader said that the next election would be held under Sheikh Hasina government as the poll-time government.
