News Desk :: Awami League general secretary and road, transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader.
Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday said that Jatiya Party would be the main opposition party in the Parliament.
Quader, also the road, transport and bridges minister, said this while addressing a press briefing at the Awami League president’s office in Dhanmondi in the afternoon.
Replying to a question from journalists, Quader said that the political party with the second highest number of seats in the election would be the main opposition party.
Jatiya party bagged 11 seats in the 12th Parliamentary Election of Bangladesh which was held on January 7.
Quader also said that Bangladesh Nationalist Party was spreading rumours in home and abroad by indulging in anti-government activities.
‘Rumour terrorism has been associated with their arson terrorism,’ he said.
‘Commodity prices are rising all over the world. But they are spreading propaganda by saying this situation is a potential famine,’ he said.
‘If BNP had moved forward with positive politics, it would not have fallen so suddenly. In trying to topple the government, they have fallen into the pit of collapse,’ he added.
