The government has cancelled the contractual appointment of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) managing director MAN Siddique and appointed additional secretary Mohammad Abdur Rauf as the new managing director.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges issued two separate notifications in these regard on Monday (September 9).
According to a notice, the order of cancelling the appointment of Siddique will come into effect immediately.
In another office order, Mohammad Abdur Rouf, an additional secretary who has been serving as the additional project director of Mass Rapid Transit Line-5 (northern route), has been appointed by the division. Rauf will get the salary and allowances accrued in his current post.
Meanwhile, Siddique, a former secretary, was appointed as managing director of DMTCL, the implementing and operating agency of Dhaka metro rail, in October 2017 and he has been serving in the post since then.
