Sports Desk News :: Shamim Hossain made his debut as Bangladesh have won the toss against their Afghanistan counterparts in their do-or-die second tie of the Asia Cup and elected to bat first at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan, on Sunday.
Apart from Shamim, the three-time runner-ups have made two more changes from their last game, as they brought Afif Hossain and Hasan Mahmud in place of Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Mahedi Hasan, and Mustafizur Rahman.
Both sides have played each other a fair bit in recent times, with Afghanistan coming out 2-1 winners in their most recent ODI series.
However, this is the first time Bangladesh will be competing in Pakistan since 2008, while Afghanistan will be playing there for the first time ever.
Bangladesh, who suffered a five-wicket loss against Sri Lanka in the tournament opener at Palleke on Thursday, have no option but to win the game to keep their hope alive for the last four of the continental vying.
