EC only can decide on poll reschedule: Quader

Desk News :: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that only the Election Commission (EC) can take the decision on rescheduling the January 7 parliamentary election. Only EC can decide on reschedule or not.

The Awami League general secretary came up with the remark while responding to questions of journalists after a meeting with the Commonwealth Pre-Election Assessment Mission at the Dhaka District Awami League office on Wednesday (November 22).

Obaidul Quader said, “Everything will become clear after November 30. Electoral laws have been reformed in the country. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took the steps for holding free, fair and impartial elections”.

Obaidul Quader said, “The Commonwealth representatives were asked whether there is any perfect country in terms of democracy in the world. Even after so much propaganda, the Commonwealth representatives have expressed their interest in monitoring the elections, it is a positive matter”.
