Gems of Nazrul’ pays tribute to nat’l poet

Entertainment Desk News :: Around 50 leading and promising Nazrul artistes have paid tribute to national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam recording a music video of the song titled ‘Sobuj Shobhar Dheu Khele Jay’ recently.

The music video has been recorded as part of the initiative titled Gems of Nazrul, a platform dedicated to preserving and promoting Nazrul Sangeet, which was launched in 2016. It will be aired on Channel i at 12:01am on August 27 marking the 47th anniversary of the death of Kazi Nazrul Islam.

The music video of the song has been patronised by cultural affairs ministry. Besides, music lovers will be able to watch the music video on the official YouTube channel of Gems of Nazrul.

The song was recorded under direction of the renowned Nazrul artiste Sadya Afreen Mallick and its music arrangement was done by Durbadal Chattopadhyay.

Earlier, 28 songs have been released under Gems of Nazrul. ‘Sobuj Shobhar Dheu Khele Jay’ will be the project’s 29th song.

‘We regularly release songs under the banner of Gems of Nazrul marking the national poet’s birth or death anniversary. This year we will release his Sobuj Shobhar Dheu Khele Jay as the 29th song of the initiative,’ said Sadya Afreen Mallick.

‘We have already completed shooting of the music video. I hope that the audience will love the song as well as the music video,’ added Sadya Afreen Mallick.
