News Desk ::In yet another price hike within just two days, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a new record for gold prices in the country.
The price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 4,713 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new rate at Tk 172,546 per bhori — the highest in the nation’s history.
The announcement came through a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, Chairman of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, on Monday. The revised price will take effect starting Tuesday.
BAJUS cited the rising cost of pure (acid-treated) gold in local market as the reason behind fresh increase. The association noted that the decision was made after reviewing overall market situation.
