News Desk :: amai Mela — a traditional festival of Bangladesh — is organised in many regions, including Gazipur, Sylhet, Jamalpur, Bogra in the season every year.
The fair is mainly organised centring the rampant marriage ceremonies held in this period. Big fishes are sold in the fair as supply of big fish increases at this time.
People buy big fishes from the Jamai Mela to feed the sons-in-law.
In addition to big size Rui, Katla, Chital, Air, Coral, Pangash, many other big fishes can be found in this fair.
Shwapno organised two-week long Jamai Mela, in 48 outlets in Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet and Bogura from February 16 to February 29.
There is a collection of big river fishes such as Baghair, Air, Boal, Katla, Pangas, Tuna, and Mackerel at the Shwapno outlets.
This fair will also be held at Shwapno outlets in Gulshan, Banani, Dhanmondi, Mirpur in the capital.
