Siddika Akhter, Director General of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Bangladesh, is touring the country with the encouragement of the nursing officers to overcome the fear in this difficult time of Corona.
He is visiting different districts and inspecting the activities of nursing officers. Listening to their problems, assuring them of a solution. This is inspiring the field nursing officers.On Saturday morning, he inspected the four-week intensive care training course and two-week infection control and prevention course at Sylhet Nursing College and exchanged views with the nursing officers of Osmani Medical College Hospital.
While inspecting the training, Siddika Akhter saw and appreciated the group presentation of the trainees. Calling the nurses ‘angels’ for their admirable role during the coronation period, Siddique Akhter said there was no substitute for training to improve professional standards. The trainings which used to be held centrally in Dhaka will now be organized at the departmental level for the convenience of the nursing officers of the country. This will make it easier for nursing officers to participate in training.During the exchange of views held at the auditorium of Osmani Medical College Hospital, Director General of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery Siddika Akhter listened attentively to the professional problems of the nursing officers of the hospital and assured to solve them.At the same time, the Director General said that everyone will be given incentives as per the list sent for incentives from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Similarly, initiatives have been taken to provide incentives as per the list available from hospitals across the country. That list has become the Ministry of Health and is currently waiting for the approval of the Ministry of Finance.Siddique Akhter further said that the nursing officers who have already got selection grade will get their outstanding bills within this month. He also assured that those who have not yet got selection grade will be given selection grade soon. He said that many minor problems can be solved easily by working in coordination with the local administration. So he suggested working in coordination with the local administration. If no problem is solved locally, the Department of Nursing will solve it.During the exchange of views, Bangladesh Nurses Association (BNA) Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital Branch conducted Divisional Continuing Education in Sylhet, filling up of vacancies in Nursing, setting up dormitories for male nurses and training on ongoing ICU activities. In response, Director General Siddika Akhter said that a proposal would be sent for setting up a continuing education center. He assured to take necessary action after receiving the proposal.He also assured to fill the vacancies, set up dormitories and extend the duration of training. Siddika Akhter said those who passed the BPSC written test last Friday (June 11) will be brought under the fast-track recruitment.Director General of the Department Siddika Akhter addressed the function as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Service Superintendent Renowara Akhter and BNA Osmani Hospital Branch President Shamima Nasrin and General Secretary Israel Ali Sadeq. Director (Finance and Budget) Shirin Akhter (Deputy Secretary), Acting Director of Osmani Hospital Dr. spoke as a special guest. Himanshu Lal Roy.Meanwhile, when she reached Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in the morning, Siddika Akhter was welcomed with flowers by the acting director of the hospital Dr. Himanshu Lal Roy, Assistant Director (Administration) said. Abul Kalam Azad, Service Superintendent Renowara Akhter.Besides, Bangladesh Nurses Association (BNA) Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital Branch President Shamima Nasrin, General Secretary Israel Ali Sadeq, Joint General Secretary Suleman Ahmed, Organizing Secretary Arbindu Chandra Das, Finance Secretary Nilufa Yasmin, Nursing Officer Suman Other officers of the organization.Besides, BNA Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed on behalf of the hospital branch greeted with flowers, acting president Masud Ahmed Khan, general secretary Mahmudul Hasan and others.Later, Siddika Akhter visited various departments, wards and portraits of Bangabandhu at Osmani Medical College Hospital.
