The investigation body, formed by the Home Ministry over the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan in Teknaf, submitted its full report on Monday.
Additional Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Md Mizanur Rahman, who led the probe, handed over the report to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal at around 12:00 noon.
Home minister said: “The committee has submitted its full report and we will take necessary steps after scrutinizing the report.”
After submitting the report, Additional Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Md Mizanur Rahman said: “Everything that we investigated so far have been attached with the report. The probe body talked with 68 people, collected information from the spot and also visited spots where Sinha recorded his video documents to make the report. I think the report will uplift the goodwill of entire police force.”
The body was formed on August 3, and initially was scheduled to submit its report within seven working days, but received several extensions.
On July 31, Army Major (retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Later on August 5, Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, elder sister of Sinha, filed a case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court.
