Swastika joins the cast of Bangladeshi thriller ’One Eleven’

Entertainment Desk News :: Popular Indian actress Swastika Mukherjee has signed on to star in the upcoming Bangladeshi mystery thriller film titled ‘One Eleven.’ The film, based on a story by Humayun Biswas and featuring dialogue by Mozaffar Hossain, will be directed by Kamrul Islam Refat.

Swastika will be appearing alongside the eminent Bangladeshi actor Afzal Hossain. The screenplay for ‘One Eleven’ has been meticulously revised and refined by Nurul Alam Atique and Matia Banu Shuku.

When asked about her decision to act in ‘One Eleven,’ Swastika shared her desire to work in Bengal outside of Kolkata. She said, “I have had a strong desire to work in Bangladesh for many years. I visited Dhaka for the first time in 2008 to shoot a commercial film, and that was the only time. After that, I had discussions with many directors and producers, exchanged scripts, but nothing substantial materialised.”

Director Kamrul Refat approached her with the ‘One Eleven’ story in 2021. Swastika explained, “I read the story for the first time during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, I’ve been in constant contact with Kamrul Refat and his team, reading multiple drafts, discussing characters, and having numerous Zoom meetings. I became fascinated with the entire story and their vision for the film.”

According to sources close to the director, Afzal Hossain and Swastika will portray two significant roles in the film, with scenes filmed in various locations across Dhaka, including Gazipur, Gulshan, and Dhanmondi.

‘One Eleven’ marks Swastika’s second film in Bangladesh, with her previous appearance in the 2008 film ‘Sobar Upore Tumi’ opposite Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan.
