sylhetersomoy :: Sylhet was shaken by the earthquake again. The earthquake was felt around 1:13 pm on Tuesday (August 29). The earthquake lasted a few seconds.
Android Earthquake Warning System said that the source of the earthquake was 18 km away from Jaintapur Upazila of Sylhet district. The magnitude of which is 4.6 on the Richter scale. Residents of the city say that the earthquake shook quite a lot and lasted for several seconds.
Due to the earthquake, panic arose in the minds of the city dwellers. Many residents of the city left the shops and businesses and came down to the streets. However, no earthquake damage has been reported so far.
Earlier on August 14 (Monday) at 8:49 PM, an earthquake was felt in Sylhet. The origin of that earthquake is said to be near Kanighat upazila bordering Sylhet. The magnitude of which is 5.5 on the Richter scale.
