Taylor Swift gifts $197m in bonuses to ‘Eras Tour’ crew

Entertainment Desk :: Taylor Swift has recently concluded her “Eras Tour” which generated over US $2 billion. The “Shake it Off” singer decided to give a special surprise for her cast and crew members by handing out US $197 million as bonuses to tour members on top of their regular salaries, according to People magazine.

Taylor Swift distributed US $197 million in bonuses to everyone involved in her tour, including truck drivers, caterers, instrument technicians, merchandise teams, lighting and sound crews, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band members, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics experts, riggers, hair and makeup artists, wardrobe teams, physical therapists, and the video crew.

In August 2023, as Taylor Swift concluded the first North American leg of her tour, PEOPLE reported that she had distributed over US $55 million in bonuses.

The 149-date stadium tour concluded Sunday night in Vancouver, BC, where Taylor Swift expressed her gratitude to her team on stage. She shared a heartfelt group hug during the “Karma” outro and gave individual hugs to her dancers and backup singers. This marked the end of her tour which kicked off in March 2023 in Glendale, Arizona.

Following her 149th and final performance, Taylor Swift’s production company, Taylor Swift Touring, confirmed to the New York Times that the “Eras Tour” was attended by 10,168,008 fans and generated US $2,077,618,725 in ticket sales. This achievement makes it the highest-grossing tour of all time, with ticket revenue twice as high as any other concert tour in history.

Taylor Swift is closing out 2024 on an extraordinary high. Alongside her record-breaking tour, her “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book” achieved remarkable success, reportedly selling 814,000 copies within its first two days, making it the year’s biggest publishing launch.

Furthermore, Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music all named Swift the most-streamed artiste of 2024, with her 11th album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” becoming the year’s top-streamed album.
