News Desk :: Three additional inspectors general of police (Addl IGP), including former director general of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Barrister Mohammad Harun-Ar-Rashid, were sent on forced retirement from service on Wednesday.
Three separate notifications, signed by Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen, senior secretary of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, in accordance with the president’s directive, were issued in these connections on Wednesday.
Two other officers sent into retirement are– AIG Mohammad Shahabuddin Khan, head of the Highway Police, and Dr Kh Mohid Uddin, a former additional commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), who is currently serving in the Tourist Police.
The notifications stated that the order was issued in public interest effective immediately and the officers would receive their retirement benefits as per the regulations.
