Tigers bowled out for 193 in Super Four opener

Sports Desk News :: Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim each struck a fifty to propel Bangladesh to 193 runs in their Asia Cup Super-Four opener against Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Wednesday.

Shakib made 53 off 57 balls, his 54th ODI fifty, while Mushfiq chipped in with an 87-ball 64, his 46th half-century, to bring a humble total for the Tigers.

Haris Rouf was the standout bowler for Pakistan picking up 4-19 while Naseem Shah claimed 3-34 and Shaheen Shah Afridi, Faheem Ashraf and Iftikhar Ahmed claimed one wicket each.

Batting first, Bangladesh made a terrible start losing their top four batsmen Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Liton Das, Mohamamd Naim and Towhid Hridoy for 0, 16, 20 and 2 runs respectively.

Then Shakib and Mushfiq shared a crucial 100-run stand for the fifth wicket to take Bangladesh close to two hundred run mark before he was dismissed by Fahim.

However, Mushfiq looked to continue his momentum further to boost the Tigers total.
