News Desk :: Two people were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.
The identities of the victims could not be known immediately, police said.
The incident happened when a Dhaka-bound bus of Eagle Paribahan from Cox’s Bazar collided with the covered van coming from the opposite direction at about 10:00am on Thursday in the upazila’s Harbang area.
Chakaria Police Station officer-in-charge Sheikh Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter.
The injured were sent to the Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
‘Among the injured, two are in critical condition. The identities of the dead and injured could not be ascertained. Efforts are on to identify them,’ said the OC.
He also said that they seized the vehicles involved in the accident.
