sylhetersomoy :: A Union Parishad Chairman and a Chhatra Dal leader were killed in a road accident in Sylhet. The accident took place at around 12:30 pm on Saturday night in Sylhet-Bholaganj Bangabandhu highway near Salutikor area number 10.
The deceased are – Chairman of Jalalabad Union Parishad No. 1 of Sylhet Sadar Upazila, Awami League leader Md. Obaidullah Ishaq and District Chhatra Dal Joint General Secretary and Stadium Market businessman M. Hafizur Rashid.
According to police and local sources, Obaidullah Ishaq and Hafizur Rashid were returning from Companyganj upazila Sadar on Saturday night. After arriving at area number 10 near Salutikar Bazar, a motorcycle collided with a truck. Ishaq and Hafizur died on the spot.
On receiving the information, Inspector-in-charge of Salutikar Investigation Center Nirmal Chandra Dev went to the spot along with a group of policemen, recovered the two bodies and sent them to Osmani Medical College Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
Obaidullah Ishaq lived at Darga Mohalla Payra 108 and Hafizur Rashid Payra 85 in Sylhet city.
