{"id":2204,"date":"2023-08-10T16:46:20","date_gmt":"2023-08-10T16:46:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailysylhetersomoy.com\/english\/?p=2204"},"modified":"2023-08-10T16:46:20","modified_gmt":"2023-08-10T16:46:20","slug":"yt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailysylhetersomoy.com\/english\/yt\/","title":{"rendered":"Bangladesh reports 12 dengue deaths, 2, 959 cases in 24hrs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>Sylheter Somoy Desk<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nAs many as 12 dengue patients died and 2,959 were admitted to different hospitals in Bangladesh during the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2018During the period, 1,097 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 1,862 were admitted to different hospitals outside Dhaka,\u2019 a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\u2018This year, 364 deaths, the highest in a year since dengue was detected in 2000, were reported from dengue disease while 281 died last year,\u2019 the daily statement of the DGHS said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 78,028 the statement said, adding: \u2018Some 67,874 patients were released from different hospitals this year of the total patients.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\u2018A total of 9,790 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Of them, 4,460 are in Dhaka while 5,330 are outside the capital city,\u2019 it added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Health experts warned the dengue situation may deteriorate this month and in the next month, asking authorities concerned to launch a massive campaign against all types of mosquitoes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Analysing the amount of rainfall, temperature and humidity in Bangladesh, they described August and September months as the most suitable period for breeding of Aedes mosquitoes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne illness that occurs in tropical and subtropical areas of the world.
