Two more murder cases have been filed against suspended Teknaf police station officer-in-charge Pradeep Kumar Das and 31 other police personnel at a Cox\u2019s Bazar senior judicial magistrate court.<\/p>\n
The family members of two victims who died in reported gunfights with the police filed the cases on Monday.<\/p>\n
Laila Begum, wife of Noor Mohammad who was killed in a reported gunfight on March 21, 2019, \u00a0filed the first case at the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Helal Uddin.<\/p>\n
He ordered Teknaf police station officer-in-charge to investigate the matter and submit a report before the court by October 4, Laila\u2019s lawyer Noor Hossain Nahid Mohammad Mostafa confirmed the information.<\/p>\n
According to Laila\u2019s case statement, her husband was killed in a reported gunfight as they were unable to meet the demand of Tk 15 lakh as demanded by the Teknaf police. However, the victim family paid them Tk five lakh.<\/p>\n
District public prosecutor Faridul Alam, however, said \u2018The court will decide whether to accept it as a formal case or not after getting the probe report from the Teknaf police. This is the tenth murder case filed against Pradeep.\u2019<\/p>\n
Another case had been filed by Halima Khatun, mother of a reported gunfight victim Mohammad Aziz of Dailpara village in Teknaf.<\/p>\n
Cox\u2019s Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Helal Uddin ordered the Teknaf police station officer-in-charge to investigate the matter and submit a report before the court by October 4.<\/p>\n
Her lawyer Shah Alam confirmed the information.<\/p>\n
According to Halima\u2019s case statement, her son Mohammad Aziz was killed in a reported gunfight on October 19, 2019 as they were unable to meet the of demand of Tk 4.5 lakh as extortion demanded by the Teknaf police. They paid Tk 50,000 against their demand.<\/p>\n
