Q-1. Express your feelings about the award you recently got<\/p>\n
I am working as an actress in the past three eras in theatre and portraying more than twenty characters. The character of Mahatrema of the play Shesh Songlaap, a renowned theatre production of Shomoy Natyadal, introduced me in the theatre arena. As a theatre performer I regularly participated in theatre production both street and stage, and I performed more than 500 shows. Koler Gaan multimedia nominated me for my journey as an actress. I celebrate it as celebrating life.<\/p>\n
Q-2. The beginning of acting\u2026..<\/p>\n
I learned dance and music as an actor. I used to participate in solo, duet and group dance in the various stages of Dhaka, stages of several districts and abroad. In mid 90s I participated in an acting workshop of Shomoy Sangskritik Goshtee was selected as their member. I became a dependent actor of the troupe and portrayed many important characters of different productions of the troupe which is still continued.<\/p>\n
Q-3. Can you describe some mentionable characters of plays you acted in?<\/p>\n
Every character is equally important for an actor, where it is small or big in length. An actor creates his or her charters with all of his imagination, labor and love. I paid equal attention to portray them as an actor in my career but some make me too emotional. I cannot forget the characters like Ayna Bibi from the play Asman Tara Sari, Almarijaan from an adaptation of Molier\u2019s Tartuffe, Fulbanu from Bajimaat, Laily from the play Vager Manush, Debjani from the play Jajati and of course the character Mahatrema from the play Shesh Songlaap.<\/p>\n
Q-4. You also worked as a skill dancer in your long career..<\/p>\n
In my career I was working as a dancer with many organisations including Bangla German Sampritee an NGO titled Ananda Cultural Group and Kathak Nritya Sampraday as a solo, duet and chorus performance. Although I learned indigenous community dance including Garo, Chakma and Shaotali, Kathak, folk and modern dance, I take them as preparation for becoming an actor.<\/p>\n
Q-5. You are involved with diverse cultural initiatives..<\/p>\n
Although I am involved with many cultural activities and initiatives, I also proudly represent my local organization Baridhara DOHS Porishod as a cultural convener and organize regular cultural activities on national days including victory day, Independence Day , Bengali new year and mother language day e.t.c.<\/p>\n
Q-6. You received lessons from many cultural personalities as an actor in your long career..<\/p>\n
In my long career I was learned and assisted by many renowned cultural personality of Bangladesh and as well as different country including Father Klaus, dance teacher Saju Ahmed, Salek Khan, Ali Zaker, Joan Jonson from America, Usha Ganguly from India and my family and always my colleague at Shomoy Sangskritik Goshtee.<\/p>\n
Q-7. What is about your next character on stage?<\/p>\n
Now we are reading many texts for our forthcoming theater production. I wish to perform in the play My Name Is “Gauhar Jaan” which depicts the legendary classical performer of South Asia Gauhar Jaan on stage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
